As a youth, as a Filipino citizen, I can say that I am a user of modern technology. Maybe it is impossible to believe that nobody uses modern technology today. From the word itself, “modern”, it is relating to, or characteristics of the present or the immediate past, or what we call the contemporary technologies that we use nowadays. The products of our modern technology are a great help for every individual around the globe. Modern technology made everything instant. The wide knowledge of persons who invented such things like these are applied for us to be given an easier life. What come first on our modern technologies are the electronic devices. Thanks to Michael Faraday who
discovered electricity. If he has not discovered this kind of energy, we would not be able to experience all the things that we have today. All things would be slow and we would not be able to accumulate things in a way which is more preferable. Electronic devices like laptops or computers, music players, television sets, and more, are the ones that are mostly used by teenagers, adults, or even children. An electronic device is a big help for us, especially students, who tend to have their research papers and assignments from the internet. People are often curious that’s why they surf and browse the internet. Another thing about this type of technology, it helps us to socialize and communicate with others. Example for that is of course Facebook. I think most of us have already their own Facebook accounts. As of now, we only have the number of persons who does not know how to use it.

As we compare the modern and the ancient technology, we can see the big difference between the two. Our ancient technology is the ones who give manual and hard works while on modern technology, everything is automatic and is instant. Modern technology makes our life easier and without this, I think that our world will still be the same as the ancient times. But we must thank the ancient technology, too. Without them, we might not be able to discover the kind of technology that we have on our present time. The two of them complements each other.
Modern technology gives every person different ideas and makes us proficient in different angles. Modern technology helps us to gain more knowledge and it also helps us to build new inventions with the help of our creative imaginations and wide mental image. As a youth, I believe that we can make our own products of modern technology. We do not need to finish school just to make these things. We can build on our own. Just believe!
As a Filipino, I would say that we should not forget our ancient technologies even though we have our new. Someday, all of these modern technologies would vanish. If these products of modern technologies were gone, we may use the ancient. Even though it is old or just a manual, it is still a product of old imaginations of old people. We should not abuse the use of modern technology because whenever we abuse it, we do not know that we are silently forgetting the past products of technology that was also given to us by the Creator.
