Campus Grounds

By: Joshua A. Apolonio

Seeing the clouds in the sky
Remembering who really am I.
Trees’ roots at the ground
Telling how my voice speaks so loud.

Trash at the clean floor
Saying that I’m a bit slutty whore;
The crucifix across the air,
Telling that God is with me everywhere.

The books in the library or any else where
Saying that education takes me a good care;
The flag at the of an iron narrow
Presenting that I’m a proud Filipino.

Walls on every kind of room,
I feel that I’m always home secured.
Windows that I see everywhere,
Tells me that I breathe a very clean air.

Blue skies above the cloud
Saying that I’m good whenever I’m around.
Stairs from ground to the next level,
Tells me that my mind is always ready for a battle.

Cars travel and park nearby
Saying that I need to go or stop by;
Grills near the lobbies are hard,
Telling that I’m strong enough to guard.
